Chapter 8

1 And it came to pass,1961 when834 Samuel8050 was old,2204 that he made7760 853 his sons1121 judges8199 over Israel.3478

2 Now the name8034 of his firstborn1060 was1961 Joel;3100 and the name8034 of his second,4932 Abiah:29 they were judges8199 in Beer-sheba.884

3 And his sons1121 walked1980 not3808 in his ways,1870 but turned aside5186 after310 lucre,1215 and took3947 bribes,7810 and perverted5186 judgment.4941

4 Then all3605 the elders2205 of Israel3478 gathered themselves together,6908 and came935 to413 Samuel8050 unto Ramah,7414

5 And said559 unto413 him, Behold,2009 thou859 art old,2204 and thy sons1121 walk1980 not3808 in thy ways:1870 now6258 make7760 us a king4428 to judge8199 us like all3605 the nations.1471

6 But the thing1697 displeased3415 5869 Samuel,8050 when834 they said,559 Give5414 us a king4428 to judge8199 us. And Samuel8050 prayed6419 unto413 the LORD.3068

7 And the LORD3068 said559 unto413 Samuel,8050 Hearken8085 unto the voice6963 of the people5971 in all3605 that834 they say559 unto413 thee: for3588 they have not3808 rejected3988 thee, but3588 they have rejected3988 me, that I should not reign4480 4427 over5921 them.

8 According to all3605 the works4639 which834 they have done6213 since the day4480 3117 that I brought them up5927 853 out of Egypt4480 4714 even unto5704 this2088 day,3117 wherewith they have forsaken5800 me, and served5647 other312 gods,430 so3651 do6213 they1992 also1571 unto thee.

9 Now6258 therefore hearken8085 unto their voice:6963 howbeit389 yet3588 protest solemnly5749 5749 unto them, and show5046 them the manner4941 of the king4428 that834 shall reign4427 over5921 them.

10 And Samuel8050 told559 all3605 the words1697 of the LORD3068 unto413 the people5971 that asked7592 of4480 854 him a king.4428

11 And he said,559 This2088 will be1961 the manner4941 of the king4428 that834 shall reign4427 over5921 you: He will take3947 853 your sons,1121 and appoint7760 them for himself, for his chariots,4818 and to be his horsemen;6571 and some shall run7323 before6440 his chariots.4818

12 And he will appoint7760 him captains8269 over thousands,505 and captains8269 over fifties;2572 and will set them to ear2790 his ground,2758 and to reap7114 his harvest,7105 and to make6213 his instruments3627 of war,4421 and instruments3627 of his chariots.7393

13 And he will take3947 your daughters1323 to be confectionaries,7548 and to be cooks,2879 and to be bakers.644

14 And he will take3947 your fields,7704 and your vineyards,3754 and your oliveyards,2132 even the best2896 of them, and give5414 them to his servants.5650

15 And he will take the tenth6237 of your seed,2233 and of your vineyards,3754 and give5414 to his officers,5631 and to his servants.5650

16 And he will take3947 your menservants,5650 and your maidservants,8198 and your goodliest2896 young men,970 and your asses,2543 and put6213 them to his work.4399

17 He will take the tenth6237 of your sheep:6629 and ye859 shall be1961 his servants.5650

18 And ye shall cry out2199 in that1931 day3117 because4480 6440 of your king4428 which834 ye shall have chosen977 you; and the LORD3068 will not3808 hear6030 you in that1931 day.3117

19 Nevertheless the people5971 refused3985 to obey8085 the voice6963 of Samuel;8050 and they said,559 Nay;3808 but3588 518 we will have1961 a king4428 over5921 us;

20 That we587 also1571 may be1961 like all3605 the nations;1471 and that our king4428 may judge8199 us, and go out3318 before6440 us, and fight3898 853 our battles.4421

21 And Samuel8050 heard8085 853 all3605 the words1697 of the people,5971 and he rehearsed1696 them in the ears241 of the LORD.3068

22 And the LORD3068 said559 to413 Samuel,8050 Hearken8085 unto their voice,6963 and make them a king.4427 4428 And Samuel8050 said559 unto413 the men376 of Israel,3478 Go1980 ye every man376 unto his city.5892

1 Когда состарелся Самуил, поставил сынов своих судьями над Израилем.

2 Имя старшему сыну его было Иоиль, а имя второму сыну его Авия: они судили в Вирсавии.

3 Но сыновья его не ходили по путям его, а уклонились к корысти, и брали подарки, и судили превратно.

4 И собрались все старейшины Израиля, и пришли к Самуилу в Раму.

5 И сказали ему: вот ты состарелся, а сыновья твои не ходят путями твоими: итак поставь нам царя, чтоб он судил у нас, как у прочих народов.

6 Самуилу не понравилось слово сие, когда они сказали: дай нам царя, чтоб он судил нас. И молился Самуил Господу.

7 Господь сказал Самуилу: послушайся гласа народа во всем, что они сказали тебе; поелику не тебя они отвергли, но Меня отвергли, чтоб Я не царствовал над ними.

8 Какие дела делали они Мне с того дня, в который Я вывел их из Египта, и до сего дня, и как они оставляли Меня, и служили другим богам, так поступают они и с тобою.

9 Итак послушайся гласа их; только представь им и объяви им права царя, который будет царствовать над ними.

10 Самуил пересказал все слова Господни народу, просящему у него царя.

11 И сказал: вот какие будут права царя, который будет царствовать над вами: он возьмет сыновей ваших и посадит их на колесницы свои и на коней своих, чтоб они скакали пред колесницею его,

12 И чтоб поставить их у себя тысяченачальниками и пятидесятиначальниками, также чтобы они орали землю его, и жали хлеб его, и делали ему воинское оружие и колесничный прибор его.

13 И дочерей ваших возьмет, чтоб составляли масти, варили кушанье и пекли хлебы.

14 И лучшие поля ваши, и виноградные и масличные сады ваши возьмет, и отдаст слугам своим.

15 От семян ваших и из виноградных садов ваших возьмет десятую часть, и отдаст евнухам своим и слугам своим.

16 И рабов ваших, и рабынь ваших, и лучших юношей ваших, и ослов ваших возьмет, и употребит на свои надобности.

17 И от мелкого скота вашего возьмет десятую часть; и сами вы будете ему рабами.

18 В тот день восстенаете от царя вашего, которого вы избрали себе; и не будет отвечать вам Господь в тот день.

19 Но народ не согласился послушаться слов Самуила, и сказал ему: нет, пусть будет над нами царь.

20 И мы будем жить, как прочие народы; царь наш у нас будет судить, и будет ходить перед нами, и будет воевать вместе с нами на войнах наших.

21 Самуил, выслушав все слова народа, пересказал их во уши Господа.

22 И сказал Господь Самуилу: послушайся гласа их, и поставь им царя. Тогда сказал Самуил людям Израилевым: пойдите всяк в свой город.

1 Когда состарелся Самуил, поставил сынов своих судьями над Израилем.

5 И сказали ему: вот ты состарелся, а сыновья твои не ходят путями твоими: итак поставь нам царя, чтоб он судил у нас, как у прочих народов.

6 But the thing1697 displeased3415 5869 Samuel,8050 when834 they said,559 Give5414 us a king4428 to judge8199 us. And Samuel8050 prayed6419 unto413 the LORD.3068

6 Самуилу не понравилось слово сие, когда они сказали: дай нам царя, чтоб он судил нас. И молился Самуил Господу.

7 And the LORD3068 said559 unto413 Samuel,8050 Hearken8085 unto the voice6963 of the people5971 in all3605 that834 they say559 unto413 thee: for3588 they have not3808 rejected3988 thee, but3588 they have rejected3988 me, that I should not reign4480 4427 over5921 them.

7 Господь сказал Самуилу: послушайся гласа народа во всем, что они сказали тебе; поелику не тебя они отвергли, но Меня отвергли, чтоб Я не царствовал над ними.

8 According to all3605 the works4639 which834 they have done6213 since the day4480 3117 that I brought them up5927 853 out of Egypt4480 4714 even unto5704 this2088 day,3117 wherewith they have forsaken5800 me, and served5647 other312 gods,430 so3651 do6213 they1992 also1571 unto thee.

8 Какие дела делали они Мне с того дня, в который Я вывел их из Египта, и до сего дня, и как они оставляли Меня, и служили другим богам, так поступают они и с тобою.

9 Now6258 therefore hearken8085 unto their voice:6963 howbeit389 yet3588 protest solemnly5749 5749 unto them, and show5046 them the manner4941 of the king4428 that834 shall reign4427 over5921 them.

9 Итак послушайся гласа их; только представь им и объяви им права царя, который будет царствовать над ними.

10 And Samuel8050 told559 all3605 the words1697 of the LORD3068 unto413 the people5971 that asked7592 of4480 854 him a king.4428

10 Самуил пересказал все слова Господни народу, просящему у него царя.

11 And he said,559 This2088 will be1961 the manner4941 of the king4428 that834 shall reign4427 over5921 you: He will take3947 853 your sons,1121 and appoint7760 them for himself, for his chariots,4818 and to be his horsemen;6571 and some shall run7323 before6440 his chariots.4818

11 И сказал: вот какие будут права царя, который будет царствовать над вами: он возьмет сыновей ваших и посадит их на колесницы свои и на коней своих, чтоб они скакали пред колесницею его,

12 And he will appoint7760 him captains8269 over thousands,505 and captains8269 over fifties;2572 and will set them to ear2790 his ground,2758 and to reap7114 his harvest,7105 and to make6213 his instruments3627 of war,4421 and instruments3627 of his chariots.7393

12 И чтоб поставить их у себя тысяченачальниками и пятидесятиначальниками, также чтобы они орали землю его, и жали хлеб его, и делали ему воинское оружие и колесничный прибор его.

13 And he will take3947 your daughters1323 to be confectionaries,7548 and to be cooks,2879 and to be bakers.644

13 И дочерей ваших возьмет, чтоб составляли масти, варили кушанье и пекли хлебы.

14 И лучшие поля ваши, и виноградные и масличные сады ваши возьмет, и отдаст слугам своим.

15 От семян ваших и из виноградных садов ваших возьмет десятую часть, и отдаст евнухам своим и слугам своим.

16 И рабов ваших, и рабынь ваших, и лучших юношей ваших, и ослов ваших возьмет, и употребит на свои надобности.

17 И от мелкого скота вашего возьмет десятую часть; и сами вы будете ему рабами.

18 And ye shall cry out2199 in that1931 day3117 because4480 6440 of your king4428 which834 ye shall have chosen977 you; and the LORD3068 will not3808 hear6030 you in that1931 day.3117

18 В тот день восстенаете от царя вашего, которого вы избрали себе; и не будет отвечать вам Господь в тот день.

19 Nevertheless the people5971 refused3985 to obey8085 the voice6963 of Samuel;8050 and they said,559 Nay;3808 but3588 518 we will have1961 a king4428 over5921 us;

19 Но народ не согласился послушаться слов Самуила, и сказал ему: нет, пусть будет над нами царь.

20 That we587 also1571 may be1961 like all3605 the nations;1471 and that our king4428 may judge8199 us, and go out3318 before6440 us, and fight3898 853 our battles.4421

20 И мы будем жить, как прочие народы; царь наш у нас будет судить, и будет ходить перед нами, и будет воевать вместе с нами на войнах наших.

21 And Samuel8050 heard8085 853 all3605 the words1697 of the people,5971 and he rehearsed1696 them in the ears241 of the LORD.3068

21 Самуил, выслушав все слова народа, пересказал их во уши Господа.

22 And the LORD3068 said559 to413 Samuel,8050 Hearken8085 unto their voice,6963 and make them a king.4427 4428 And Samuel8050 said559 unto413 the men376 of Israel,3478 Go1980 ye every man376 unto his city.5892

22 И сказал Господь Самуилу: послушайся гласа их, и поставь им царя. Тогда сказал Самуил людям Израилевым: пойдите всяк в свой город.
